"I'm open, I'm open" Mal was yelling.
Becky kept both slate blue eyes on Mal's quick feet as they took a pass from Maria and came towards her. Becky was on her toes, her gloved hands outstretched slightly. Mal's foot came back and then forward like a flash, shooting the ball towards the upper left hand corner of the net. She pushed off of her toes, stretching her whole body out and just managed to get a finger to the ball, bouncing it up and over the net for a goal kick...well it would be a goal kick if it were a real game instead of just practice.
Becky fell to the ground and was on her feet in seconds, dusting off the new dirt her uniform had aquired on this latest dive, and flashing a thumbs up to her teammate. "Nice shot, Mal!"
"Nice save, Becks" was Mal's cheerful reply, before running to join the line.
"Water break" hollered Coach Gibson.
Becky peeled off her sweaty gloves and joined the rest of the girls jogging over to the pile of duffel bags by the net. She tossed her gloves on top of her overstuffed bag and scooped up her water bottle. Taking a gulp, she happened to notice a few spectators in the bleachers. One of them washer boyfriend. She waved. The other that she particularly noticed was Eric. "I'll be right back coach" she called, dropping her water into the open outer pouch of her bag and vaulting the fence cleanly.
"Ten minutes" warned Gibson.
"Eric, what are you doing here? Hoping to catch someone taking off their uniform and get a little glimpse of a sports bra" she teased.

For some reason Eric was hanging out at the soccer fields. Their basketball practice wasn't for another hour and he had nothing other than homework to do. So he figured he'd watch the girls soccer practice. The girls soccer team was the highest ranked in the region and his ex girlfriend was on the team. Becky was basically one of very very few girls he ever really dated. He didn't date, he wasnt that kinda guy. But he dated Becky freshman year for a couple months. They were on good terms although he was kind of surprised when she vaulted the fence and came over to see him instead of her boyfriend. "Yeah, you know me" he joked back with her, grinning. "Your boyfriend going to get jealous youre talking to me and not him?" he asked, glancing over at Liam. Liam and Eric didn't like each other very much.

Becky waved to Liam again before turning her focus back to Eric. "I'm going out with him after practice and a shower" she explained. "So I don't think he'll be jealous if I talk to you for five minutes during a water break. What are you really here for?" She arched a blond eyebrow. "Procrastinating on your homework? Don't you have practice today? Matt said you did." Matt Johnson, one of Mal's older brothers was on the team too. "Congrats on the playoffs coming up, by the way. We're in too...obviously" she joked, pushing a lock of sweaty hair behind one ear.

Becky explained that she would going out with Liam after practice so he wouldn't really mind that she was talking to Eric instead. Eric shrugged, knowing that Liam may feel differently about that but hey he wasn't going to not talk to Becky. He turned his attention back to Becky when she asked what he was really doing at their practice before congratulating him on the playoffs. "We don't have practice for another hour and I wanted to see how our famous girls soccer was doing. And thanks, congrats to you guys too." he answered. A couple of the cheerleaders walked by, one of them yelling out to Eric and he responded with a nod. "You're coming to my place Saturday right? For the party" he asked her. He didn't exactly want Liam there but he wasn't going to be an ass and tell Becky she couldn't bring him. With any other girl he would certainly be up front with it but not with Becks.

When he mentioned the party, she nodded enthusiastically. "Of course! Wouldn't miss it for the world." A soccer ball came flying over the fence at them and she reacted instinctively as a goalie, snagging it before it could hit either her or Eric. Begging to toss it from hand to hand, she glanced subtly at Liam again. "You don't want him there do you" she asked in a slightly sad voice. You didn't have to be einstein to see that her boyfriend and her ex-boyfriend didn't et along very well. It was sort of upsetting, but she could understand why Eric might not enjoy Liam's company. Eric was on the basketball team and was popular and to everyone's outter eye, he and Becky were probably the world's greatest couple and then Becky went and dated "the nerd" right after him. That might be an ego crush. And she didn't want to hurt Eric, so if Eric said no Liam, she would do her best to keep it that way. At least for the party.

Of course! Wouldn't miss it for the world Becks answered. Eric smiled a little as Becks caught a soccer ball that came flying over the fence. He liked watching her play soccer, she was amazing at it it just came so natural to her. You don't want him there do you? Becks asked him, a sad little tone escaping. Eric glanced over at Liam before back at Becks. "Do you want me to be honest? Or do you want me to lie to you?" he asked seriously

Becky frowned slightly at him, stopping her ball juggling to swat him in the arm. "Why would I want you to lie to me, Eric? Besides, it's not like it's not obvious." She attempted a smile. "But don't worry about it. I'll be there. Without Liam" she added pointedly. "I'll tell him, don't worry about me being one of those pathetic people that makes you tell the heart breaking news." She was half going for sarcastic, but was half serious. She began juggling the ball again, occassionally dropping it down and using her thighs and then her feet and then back to her thighs and then her head. Finally she stopped showing off and let the ball rest on the ground, under one foot.

Eric smiled when Becks hit him in the arm, he thought it was adorable when she got angry. "I dont really care if its obvious" he commented and she knew that. She said she'd be at his party without Liam and he nodded in his slow sort of laid back way. She mentioned that she'd tell Liam and that he wouldnt have to. "Dude should know I dont want him there anyways even if I am still friends with you" he said calmly and truthfully as he watched Becks play around with the ball.
