Kimberly had a free period and a classroom without a teacher to monitor the students. So she was wandering the halls of Saint James High in search of the library. She really ought to get to know the building but she'd been more concerned with making friends and the cheerleading squad. Kimberly seemed to now be in a hallway full of lockers and yet she couldn't figure out which year it was. It wasn't sophomores she knew that much, but there really wasn't any sign of which year it was. "Crap" she muttered to herself, pushing some of her hair off her forehead in annoyance. She shifted her weight from one leg to the other, noticing that there was somebody else in the corridor. "Hey, where am I?" she asked, clearly embarrassed to be asking such a question.

Levi had settled into a crouch next to his locker, reading a manga absently. He had been excused from the classroom for completing his task early. Most of the others had sat about chatting idly, which is when he had seen befit to excuse himself. People speaking around himself, and him with no intention of joining in, made him frightfully uncomfortable. As he had become completely settled into the silent halls he heard a voice of inquiry from further down the hll, and it startled him a bit, he glanced up sharply much like a mouse noticing a cat before managing a reply. " uhm... yeah.... well.... This is the Junior hall.... "

Kimberly was almost unsure if the guy had heard her or was even going to answer but he eventually did. The junior hall? She didn't even know where that was in the building. "Yeah... that doesn't really help me. I'm sorry to bother you, I'm new.. " Kimberly said in her thick southern accent. "I was trying to get to the library but I have no idea how I got here" she added with a little frown. |

Levi brushed his fingers through his hair a bit apprehensively, though he didnt like being social very much, this girl seemed actually at a loss. He stood a bit creakily tossing the manga into his locker and locking the door behing him. he turned about and managed a mild smile, which he felt was never befitting of him. " Well, it might be a bit more easy, if i just show you... " He took a few of his long, nearly awkward steps on towards her.

Kimberly bit on her bottom lip a little as the guy put his book into his locker and walked over towards her. He seemed to be a bit shy and she felt like she was inconveniencing him in a way by asking him for help. She shrugged it off though, if she was she was sure he wouldn't help her out. "I'm Kimberly.. " she introduced herself, stepping forward towards him and holding out her hand to shake. "And thanks for the help.. I really need to learn my way around the school" |

He paused a moment, kind of shocked by her bright eyes as they made contact with his, and broke the gaze slightly taking her small hand into his for a frief shake. He stifled a nervous smile with his deep toned reply. " I'm Levi... Nice to meet you... well, erm... Youre kind of on the opposite side... of the school... The library is on the other side, that way..* He rose a hand to point in the direction in which she came.

His hand was substantially larger than hers but she was a small girl and most guys were like that to her. "Nice to meet you too" she mumbled when he introduced himself. She sighed when he told her that she was on the opposite side of the school and that the library was back in the direction she came from. "I must have walked right by it" she said in sort of a exasperated tone. She knew she would probably get lost again trying to find it. So for she'd only memorized the hallways to her classes and usually she was with a friend or two when she had to leave the building or go to lunch. Kimberly wanted to ask him to walk with her but she still felt as if she'd intruded on his alone time or something, so she kept quiet. "Can you explain which hallway I need to be in?" she asked, looking up at him. |

" uhm... well, Ill just show you.... Okay??" He nodded genuinely, with an honest attempt at a warm friendly smile, as he managed a peek down into the jade orbs of her eyes again. " That is... Well... If you would want me to... "

Kimberly bit down on her bottom lip when he said he'd just show her. "You sure? I don't want to inconvenience you..." she answered when he offered to show her. He smiled and Kimberly couldn't help but notice how adorable his smile was. She had to look away momentarily to get her mind off of it. That is... Well... If you would want me to he added. Kimberly nodded, "Of course" she answered simply. She turned towards the hallway he'd pointed down. "Lead the way?" she asked. |

He chuckled lightly to himself shrugging off how cute this girl was to him, stepping on with her and pushing the double doors open before her for her to step on through. " I know how hard it can be to figure everything our for yourself.... And... Well... I wouldnt wish that on anyone... " He looked away into the light that barraged them from the open way, and as so, a gust of wind pressed in at them and ruffled his shaggy hair , and he squinted into the blazing sun. He realized to himself, that this was not usual, to help someone. Not like he wouldnt wish to, just that the oppertunity never presented itself. He questioned if this was simply because he found this girl to be such a delightfully cute little thing.

Kimberly stepped through the double doors that Levi held open for her with a soft "thank you." He mentioned that it could be hard figuring out everything for yourself and he wouldn't wish that on anybody. She nodded with a smile "Yeah some of the girls in my grade have been pretty good helping me out but there wasn't anybody in my study that I knew so I tried to find my way myself.. and ended up completely lost" she explained with a little laugh. Kimberly squinted a little in the bright sun that came through the window at the end of the hallway, moving her arm a little so that her book wasn't poking her in the side anymore. "So do you do any sports or anything?" she asked him curiously, wondering why she hadn't seen him around school yet or why any of the girls hadn't pointed him out. |

He stepped on through the courtyard next to her, toards the complex that housed a few halls and the library. His town was a bit lower, as if in regret, as he replied to her inquiry. " I cant really.... Play sports... There bad for my.... condition... " He layed it out there. That watered down word was his way of letting her know there was something wrong with him, and hopefully with as little pain as possible, she would just, walk away from him like most others do. He had grown accustomed to it by now, that being labled lame was his excuse not to risk any more.... Happenings, that might put himself, or the dear lives of those around him at risk.

I can't really...play sports... They're bad for my... condition Levi answered haltingly. Kimberly was obviously curious from the way he had answered her. Who wouldn't be? But she brushed it off, she wasn't going to be rude and ask him why. They had just met and if he wanted her to know he would tell her. She got the slight feeling that it wasn't the first time he'd told somebody that, like there was something wrong with him. "Sorry to hear that" she answered honestly. "I'm on the cheer squad but that's it so far. I've been cheering since I was little" she told him although she soon realized that he might not care to hear any of it. |

They passed, uneventfully through another set of double doors as in his deep tone he replied admirably." wow, thats very..... Pretty cool" He beamed a small smile to her, as she completely evaded the subject. This really intrigued him, someone who appeared so clean and propper, borderline preppy, had actually taken his feelings in consideration. " Erhm... You seem pretty cool..... That is..." He came to a halt in front of the Library doors, and spun around with a nod of confirmation to her, as an exclamation point on his last sentence before continuing. " well This is it.... Not so far huh??"

Kimberly kind of got the feeling that he appreciated her not trying to get any information out of him. She wasn't going to be nosey like most people at the school were. She was constantly getting asked questions from everybody so she knew what it was like to want to keep some things completely to yourself and if Levi wasn't comfortable talking about it she wouldn't push it any further. Erhm... you seem pretty cool... that is... he said but suddenly stopped. Kimberly was too caught up in paying attention to him that she nearly walked into Levi but stopped short only a couple inches away. She stepped back quickly, her cheeks turning a light shade of red and causing her to look down at her feet. Well this is it... not so far huh? Levi said. Kimberly looked up, noticing that they had made it to the library. She was sort of disappointed that they were already at the library because that meant she wouldn't get to talk to him more. "Thanks for helping me" she said thankfully with a small smile. She stood before him, not really wanting to go inside the library anymore. |
