Grace had her date with Jason tonight, and Amber was fully intending on waiting up for her twin. What she didn't plan on was falling asleep in the process. What woke her up was the shining of headlights through the window in her room. She sat up and stretched--looking at the foot of her bed where Riley, her three year old Chow/German Shepherd mix, lay curled up fast asleep. Amber reached down and pet the dog, "Whattya say girl? Do you think we should go spy on Grace and Jason?" Riley tilted her head at the sound of her owner's voice, like she was trying to understand what was being said.
Amber got off her bed and walked to the window, only to be disappointed to see a car pulling out of the driveway. "Aww, I missed it," she thought. "Oh well, I can probably catch Grace before she gets into her room." Walking as quietly as she could down the hall, Amber could hear her sister coming in the front door. Sneaking down the stairs, she crept up behind her twin. "So," Amber said as Grace turned and nearly jumped out of her skin, "how was your date with Jason?"

Grace was all smiles when she watched Jason drive away. She couldn't wait until he called her tomorrow. When she walked into the house and heard Amber say 'So' Grace jumped so high when she turned around. 'How was your date with Jason?' Grace put a hand up to her heart and said "Oh geez Amber you scared the crap out of me. The date went great, I'm so excited with this. No guy has ever made me feel like that before. He is so sweet and we kissed and every time it was just so soft and sweet." She smiled with her twin and was so happy with how the date and going to the park went.

When Grace turned around, Amber noticed that she had a smile plastered on her face. She tried to hold back a laugh when Grace told her she scared her. 'The date went great, I'm so excited with this.' Amber smiled and put her arm around her sister. She was happy for Grace. "I'm really glad for you, Grace. Well, tell me everything! I want to hear it all, you know you can't keep anything from me anyways. It's that freaky twin ESP we have; I know what you are thinking." she said the last bit with a mock menacing voice, which made her laugh. "No, seriously though," she said, turning serious in a fraction of a second, "spill."

Grace laughed when Amber told her to spill. "Alright, alright I'll spill. Well we met up after the football game and he took me to dinner at a really nice place. Like the place to go. Then after that we went to the park for a bit and he brought me home and we kissed." She smiled the entire time she told the story. She looked at her twin and said "I'm so happy. I just hope Jake won't try to ruin this." She had always been worried the football captain Jake would try and win her over.

Listening to her sister talk about her date, it was like watching a kid walk into a candy store--where their eyes light up and they get a huge smile on their face. Steering Grace into her room, Amber told Riley to get off her bed and sat down with Grace. '...We went to the park for a bit and he brought me home and we kissed.' Everything was going fine with their conversation until there was a mention of Jake. Amber had never really like him much, he seemed to be a huge flirt and cared about nothing except girls, and getting into their pants. "Well, I hope so too." Amber said, grimacing at the thought of Jake with her sister, no matter the stupid football-captain-dates-head-cheerleader cliche. "You deserve much better than Jake, and if he messes with you, that means he messes with me, too." She laughed at the thought of Jake coming face-to-face with an angry mob of girls, "Imagine if we got all the girls Jake's done wrong together to get back at him. Maybe then he would leave you alone." Amber said, still chuckling at the mental image.

'Well, I hope so too. You deserve much better than Jake, and if he messes with you, that means he messes with me, too. Imagine if we got all the girls Jake's done wrong together to get back at him. Maybe then he would leave you alone.' Grace smiled as she listened to Amber talk about Jake. "I know that I deserve better than Jake and I think I found that with Jason. And that is a good idea getting all the girls he did wrong to. We will keep that as a final resort. Right now he doesn't seem worth the time even though he flirts like mad with me. I know Jason doesn't like it when Jake talks to me. I think when Jake goes too far Jason will do something." She shuddered at the thought of Jake doing anything.

"Okay, well I'm glad your date went well." Amber said while giving Grace a hug, "Well, you woke me up when you came home, so would you be okay if I went back to bed?" she asked, standing up from her bed and stretching. She yawned and flopped back down onto her bed.

Grace smiled and hugged Amber back. "I'm really glad my date went well too. And of course you can go back to sleep Amber. I'm going to go to bed too. Night" She lightly laughed as Amber flopped back down on her bed next to Riley. She smiled and closed Ambers door. She walked across the hall to her room and changed into her pj's and sat down with her puppy on the bed. Maddy was a Cavachon which was a Spaniel/Bichon Frise mix. She smiled and said "Hi puppy. Are you tired let's go to bed now." She smiled and hugged Maddy as she laid back down on the bed having sweet dreams of Jason all night long.
