They trotted over to the gate that led to many trails through the forest. Ashley dismounted Champ and opened the large steel gate, then she remounted him and continued on through. They came to a fork in the path that split 4 different ways. There was a trail for beginners that was just strait through the forest, there was another trail that had a whole bunch of fallen trees and logs to jump, a trail that was long and winded through the forest, and the last trail was one that took you through a creek and then led you to a clearing in the woods- this was the most beautiful trail. Ashley stopped her horse and turned back to Kristy. [teal]So, which way?[/teal] she asked smiling. [/blockquote]

Kristy smiled and just leaned down and relocked the gate. She would have jumped it but she was reminded that Ashley had a western saddle. She sighed, "why dont we head to the last one...Since you have a Western Saddle" she says smiling.

Ashley looked at the trail and sighed a little. [teal]Yeah, alright...[/teal]. She was getting kind of annoyed at being reminded that she basically had no fancy riding experience. She had been around horses her whole life, and she had just enjoyed western from the beginning; it was calm, and it worked for what she had to do around the farm. But, just because she rode western didnt mean that she couldnt jump or do some other cool tricks, and the western saddle didnt slow her down. But, she kept her tiny annoyance subtle and headed for the last trail at a canter.
It was beautiful. The cool air filled the woods, and tiny beams of light shown through the overabundance of trees. Ashley couldnt help but smile. She looked to her left and spotted a doe grazing in the brush. The doe lifted her head and perked her ears forward, but didnt move. Ashley nodded a hello towards her, and the deer did something that deer didnt normally do. The doe lept forward and plodded towards the girls. Ashley stopped Champ, and he looked to see the deer. The doe had a scared expression on her face, and Ashley asked, [teal]Whats wrong?[/teal]. The deer glanced at Kristy, but didnt take any notice of her, she just turned back to Ashley. [yellow]Somethings not right in the forest...[/yellow] the deer informed her. Ashley looked back at Kristy (who she had forgotten couldnt talk to animals other than horses and dogs). [teal]She says somethings not right in here....[/teal] Ashley told Kristy. She turned back to the deer; [teal]But what exactly isnt right?[/teal] she asked the doe- who seemed to be getting a little jumpy now. The doe quickly looked up and looked like she took in a whiff. Her eyes got fearful and she sprinted off into the darkened woods. Ashley opened her mouth to tell her to wait, but it was too late, she was gone. She looked back at Kristy with a confused expression. [teal]What the hell?[/teal] she muttered to herself. She remounted Champ, and as she did, she caught sight of the sky. Her eyes went wide. The sky that was moments ago bright and clear, was now being covered in a blanket of thick, black smoke. [/blockquote]

Kristy was looking around and could tell something was wrong but sometimes the woods did that to her. She then looked to Ashley who was talking to a doe and shook her head. She hated that her powers were limited, when Ashley said something was wrong Kristy nodded, "I know...I can tell" she says. She could feel Silver tense in fear, "kris there smoke here...i can smell it" she hears silver say in a small panic, "Ash!" she called loudly but Ashley had already seen the thick black smoke, "LETS GO!" Kristy calls and turns Silver around. She kicked Silver and they were at a Gallop running through the soft straight ground that lead back to the barn. She was racing the skies and smoke now. As long as she could see clear she would be fine.

Ashley heard Kristy and she whipped Champ around and they galloped right behind Kristy. Champ was a very fast runner for his breed; he wasnt just limited to running full out a quarter mile, he could do much more. Ashley couldnt help turning and looking back behind them every few seconds. Then, she could see the gate- it was still closed from earlier. [teal]Kristy, the gate![/teal] she yelled at her. She stopped Champ so he wouldnt run into Silver, and let Kristy (since she was first) dismount and open the gate. The smoke was following quickly behind, and the sky was darkening by the second. Ashley looked behind her one last time and saw orange flames engulfing the trees. She could start to hear the yells and cries of the helpless animals trapped inside the burning hell that was approaching them quickly. [/blockquote]

OOC: Sorry I didnt have time to change lol
Kristy who was bareback leaped over the fence right as she heard Ashley yell. She hated it but she quickly dismounted and unlatched the gate she then smack Silvers rump and grabbed onto his mane and was on his back again in seconds. She remembered then she had her cell phone on her and she called Emergancey quickly. She told them where she was what was going on and that they were going to need to get there quick. She looked back and saw Champ and Ashley were right there she smiled and then saw the darkening sky. This wasnt good there were still at least three hundred yards till they got to the barn and she needed to warn Cristal the owner. She wipped out her phone again still holding on with only one hand and called her and explained what was going on. She knew that if the fire reached the barn there were horses that would be lost. She doubted it would get that far though because of all the wet grass and stuff that had been watered by the truck that morning.

Ashley closed her eyes and tried to hold back tears. The tormented screams floated all around her. She held onto Champ tighter, and he could sense her pain. Champ didnt need any guiding from the reins- he just kept following Kristy and Silver. [/blockquote]

Silver was pushing faster and faster. Kristy could acutally hear the sirens and smiled she saw the red flashing lights moments later. But knew fire trucks wouldnt be able to do much. Luckily the woods wasnt a huge forest but it ws big enough that they were going to need one of the planes that dropped water. She just knew she was going to have to get as many horses to the paddocks across the street as possible.

Ashley rode Champ right behind Kristy. When Kristy slowed, so did she. She could still hear the voices of the animals; this was one of those times when she wished her powers were limited just like Kristy's. She also saw the fire trucks and police cars arriving. [/blockquote]

Kristy finally heard what she had been waiting for the engine of a water plane. And she sighed as she got to the barn. The sky was very dark with all the black smoke. They needed to get the horses inside or else the smoke could hurt them. She trotted Silver into the only open barn door and hopped off waiting for Ashley and then close the door. The horses were frantic so she looked to Ashley, "its alright...Calm down" she says her voice calm.

Ashley dismounted Champ, and he followed her inside the barn. Ashley tried to calm herself so she could help Kristy move some of the horses to a safe area. She followed Kristy and followed any of her orders. [/blockquote]

Kristy looked at Ashley, "just try and calm them...The smoke is to heavy to have them outside, and the fire wont spread this far. Not with water already being spread...I'll be back stay calm and speak to them" she says as she locks SIlvers stall and heads out into the smokey air and ran to the firemen and asked them the conditions. When she found out that it was going to be ok she nodded and ran insdie, "everythings fine...They have water drenching the whole forest" she says calmly.

Ashley nodded and calmed herself. She took a couple deep breaths and talked to the horses to get them to settle down. She told them that everything was going to be alright, like the firemen and Kristy said, and they believed her. The horses started to settle down and wind down. Ashley walked through the stables making sure that all the horses were accounted for, and that they were doing okay. She smiled when she heard that everything was going to be ok. [/blockquote]

Kristy smiled at Ashley as she could tell the horses were calming down, "im going to head over to the other stable block to make sure the horses there are ok...I'll be back in about five" she says as she runs out closing the door behind her and went to make sure the horses were ok. She smiled when they were and ran back to where Ashley was, "the smoke is clearing...They say there going to drop three more water planes just to make sure everything is fine" she says.

Ashley nodded and Kristy ran out of the stables. She walked over to Champ and patted his head. Petting animals always calmed her. She sighed in relief when Kristy returned and said that the smoke was clearing and that they were going to drive 3 more planes over. She smiled and turned to Kristy. [teal] You know, sometimes i wished my powers were limited like yours...[/teal]. [/blockquote]
