Jason smiled and nodded at his cousin then looked back at Desire and Kristy, "the pad goes first, then the bounce pad, then the saddle then the girth...i'll slide his martingale on but I want you to try and do it without any help from me" he says smiling a little.

Grace smiled when he said he wanted to her to try it on her own. What he didn't know was she had gotten some help from Eric before they left the show. She put the pad on then the bounce pad and when it came to the saddle it seemed heavier then before. She struggled a bit getting it on Desire. Eventually she did get it on though and then she put the girth on and smiled at Jason when he put the martingale on. When she was done she smiled at Jason to see if he approved.

Jason smiled at her knowing she had gotten help from Eric and nodded in approval but smiled again, "very good but what you dont know is that the martingale is also attatched to the Girth" he says showing her the piece that hung between Desire two front legs. He undid the Girth an slipped it into the oval and then did up Desires girth, "now I'll do the bridle he is very tempermental about it" Jason says and quickly slips it on, "alright head to the mounting block" he says too her.

When he said that she didn't know the martingale was attached to the girth. She sighed and said "Awe man I thought I had it." She smiled at him though when he did that for her and told her to go to the mounting block. She walked over and got up on it and waited for Jason to bring Desire over.

Jason quickly took Desire out of his stall and brought along a helmet that he gave Grace. As well on his way out he grabbed a lunge line that he hooked to Desires Bridle. It would give Grace some control but Jason would be able to control Desire while on a circle. This would help Grace get a feel for riding before he start teaching her how to stear. He knew she knew how to get on so he waited.

Grace smiled when he gave her the helmet and put it on and then got on Desire and grabbed the reigns and smiled down at Jason. She said "Okay I am ready baby let's go."

Jason smiled at her, "today were going to work on balance and strength...Your not going to need your reins" he smiles and walks to right under Grace. He took the reins and looped them around Desires neck and smiled, "if you need to hold on to something grab his mane...If you pull he wont feel a thing. There arent nerves there" he says smiling and started walking into the ring, "make sure while he is walking you move your hips along with the motion" he says. When they get into the ring he lets silver walk on a small circle on the lunge line.

Grace smiled when he took the reigns and put them around his neck. When he told her to grab Desires mane if she needed to grab something she was surprised but nodded her head. She listened to what he said and nodded she started to concentrate on what she was doing. She let her hips move with Desires as he moved.

Jason smiled as he had Desire extend his walk so it would be easier for her to move with him, "good...Now try and stretch your heel down, make it feel like there is a rod that makes you perfectly straight head up, heels down" he says smiling at her, "now put her hands out to the side and twirl them" he says.

Grace smiled when he said they all had to do it and shrugged her shoulders. She did what he told her to do. She made her back straight again and she made her heels down and twirled her arms. She thought she looked crazy but he said everyone had to do it.

Jason smiled and noticed she had pretty good form, she was probably pretty strong from her cheerleading, "good...just have your arms make little circles, while twisting back and forth, if you lose balance try and regain it with your core and leg muscles but if your unable to you can go ahead and grab mane" he says smiling again.

Grace smiled and started to do what he told her to. She started to feel herself lose balance but tried to get it back. She did eventually she knew that if she hadn't she would have fallen off trying to catch the mane in time. She looked down at him the one time she turned and smiled at him. "Like this baby?"

Jason nodded, "but make your arm circles smaller like it looks like there going up and down but your still makes circles" he says smiling. He had taught a couple of people how to ride the basics, walk trot canter and small jumps so he knew exactly what he was talking about.
