Maggie's eyes lit up at the proposal. "Sure, I'd love to. I'll be there the first minute I can, I promise." She glanced Jaye's way and elaborated, "yes, another ghost. My uncle."
Scott gave a pleasantly surprised glance at Faye. "You're a mediator like my niece" he half stated, half asked. "Nice to meet you, I'm Scott Russell."

Faye's eyes widened in surprise. Then she stuck her hand out to shake with the ghost. "Nice to meet you, Scott, I'm Fayette O'Connor."

"Aw," Jaye whined comically, "I feel so out of the loop around mediators!"

Scott shook Faye's hand with a polite smile. "Perhaps you could teach this headstrong one over here a thing or two about mediating so that she doesnt' always end up like this."
Offended, Maggie deliberately started up a conversation with Jaye that had nothing to do with ghosts. "So what's your favorite book in that Parker series" she wanted to know.

"Well, I love reading about Hawk and Chollo, so Pot Shot is one of my very favorites. But this is just one of those series where I think they're all good enough to be a favorite." Jaye was trying to restrain her answer as she knew she could talk for days on the subject of Robert B. Parker's books.

Maggie gave an interested nod. "I think I might read them too, even if my Dad doesn't like the series...but I think he will." She sat up a little straighter on the cot, barely noticing the pain in her healing ribs, which had gone from a sharp sting to a dull throb.

Faye smiled at Scott. "I'm not sure if I'm the best one to teach her anything, sir, but I will try. Though it might be a little difficult, since she seems so stubborn . . . "
Seeing the other two living people absorbed in their discussion about books, she shook her head. Once someone got Jaye talking about one of her favorite series, there was usually no way to stop her.
*GRRRROWWWLLL*
At the sound of her stomach, Faye blushed. "Oops. I guess I'm a little hungry . . . "

Jaye disengaged herself from her conversation with Maggie when she heard Faye's stomach growl. "Want to do a food run?" She asked Faye before turning to Maggie. "You hungry kiddo? I don't know if you're not supposed to have outside food now, but we can sneak some in for you." Jaye had a fondness for sneaking things in and out of places that she shouldn't.

"Stubborn would be an understatement" Scott muttered with a hint of affection. Then the suggestion of a food run surfaced. "No" Scott said immediately. Apparently, since Mr. and Mrs. Russell weren't there at the moment, he was playing the "parent" figure and trying to make sure she ate healthy while she was recovering.
Maggie ignored him, her eyes lighting up. "Real food" she exclaimed. "That would be amazing!"

"A food run would be great, Jaye. But maybe we should head back after we're done eating. Scott here is a stickler for the rules." Faye said. She didn't want to get on the bad side of the ghost. Usually, the bad side of a ghost got really, really bad. She turned to Maggie. "Sorry, kid. I'd rather not get in trouble with your uncle today."

"Blah, Maggie's the only fun one," Jaye said. She sighed. "Fine, we won't bring the poor starving kiddo any food. I hope you're happy." Jaye walked over to the bed to give Maggie a hug, whispering into her ear "I'll bring you food once I ditch the Irish girl." She winked and headed for the door. "Ok let's go, I'm hungry!"

Maggie appreciated Jaye's effort but she knew that while ditching the "irish girl" may be easy, ditching the ghostly uncle was going to be a different story. Still she smiled greatfully as Jaye pulled back and mouthed, "thanks".
Scott looked at his niece and Jaye suspiciously. "Well it was nice to meet you Fayette" he said slowly, his eyes never leaving Maggie.

Faye grinned. She knew that the hug was probably just a cover up for something. Jaye should know better than to get around a determined, over-protective ghost. "See you later, Maggie. It was nice to meet you. You too, Scott. You're welcome to pop by The Pub anytime."

Maggie nodded and waved at Faye with her non-bandaged hand. "See ya around, Faye." She glanced up at her uncle and smiled sweetly. "You know, you could go to the Pub now and check it out if you wanted. I'm fine, really."
Scott nodded once and dissapeared. Only to reappear directly in front of Maggie, causing her to gasp in shock and sort of fall back against her freshly fluffed pillows. "Nice try, kiddo. I'm staying right here until your parents get back."

At seeing the ghost's reaction. Faye laughed. "Alright, alright, time to go. Good luck with that, Maggie." She grabbed onto Jaye's shirt sleeve and dragged her out into the hall.
"I suggest you don't try to bring any food back to Maggie today, Jaye. Uncle Scott won't let you, and you know how nasty ghosts can get." She explained to her friend.
