History:
Belle was born on the 12th of May to George Devroe and Veronica Mason. She was born out of wedlock and their first and only child. Veronica and George had plans to marry once Anabelle was born, but those were soon broken when arguments roused. Veronica fell into post-natal depression and George had to look after Anabelle, finding it too hard and simply walking out. She was barely a year old at the time. Ever since, Anabelle has lived with her mother and they've been like best friends to each other. By the time Belle was 10, the two decided to start a fresh, moving to Saint James City. Her mum decided to see other people and found love in a local citizen Brian Greene, and Anabelle only felt obliged to be happy for her mother. She hadn't seen her father in years, only recieving letters from him. Over time, her mother and Brian began to grow closer and their relationship grew. Though it was a quick decision, the two decided to get married. They were wed a week after Belle's 12th birthday, and it was then that Anabelle's powers suddenly began.
One morning she woke up in her new house, and felt different. There was more than her own thoughts in her head. At first she had thought she was sleeping still but thought she could hear her mother taking to her. She went down stairs and watched as her mother made breakfast, saying how much she didn't want to go to work. But she wasn't saying it. Her lips didn't move at all and Anabelle realized something was different. Belle refused to think anymore of it, pushing it to the back of her head and insisting she had been dreaming. But she wasn't, and that day at school proved it. Taking a seat inside the class room, Anabelle had achieved a small headache after walking through the crowds, it seeming much too loud - like there were double the amounts of students talking all at once. It wasn't as bad in the classroom, but Belle was terrified still. What was happening, why was she hearing so much noise and talking. Was she hallucinating? During the lesson she began to unpuzzle the jigsaw of her mind, the reason for the voices. The teacher asked the class a question, and though Belle knew she hadn't a clue what the answer was, it was whispered to her, the teachers voice fading in her mind like a new interfearing wave on a radio; clear yet out of place. It was then when she fainted.
Later on in class that day, she woke in the medical room. Everything was quieter except the noise of the nurses voice. She looked over but realized the nurse wasn't talking, the same soft hue as the teachers had been. Her thoughts. Anabelle clung to the edge of conciousness as she sat up from the hospital cot and looked told the nurse she would be fine, just needed to go home. Ever since that day she realized she wasn't normal, that she could read minds. She had gone over it and found there to be no other explanation. Belle tried to prove the idea of it over and over, almost hoping she had just been hallucinating. Was she a freak? That night she tried it on her mother, with little concentraition finding herself listening to the thoughts of her mother.
It took four years for Belle to control her mind reading ability, now able to channel the thoughts of other people and pin point it more easily. She tries to block most out and achieves it, but gets regular headaches from her crowded mind sometimes. She hasn't told her mother about her powers though slips up around her sometimes, answering questions she hasn't even asked aloud. Recently her mother gave birth to Anabelle's half brother, Adam, who Belle adores more than the world.
