Faye sighed. All she wanted to do was open the coffee shop in peace. But no, Uncle Liam had to hover around, nagging her about specific ways that the coffee had to be made, what temperature the muffins had to be baked at, all the things she already knew how to do. Bloody ghost.
"Faye, go check the scones, you're going to let them burn again!" the ghost scolded her.
She let out a sigh. "Uncle Liam, the scones are fine. You know they're fine. Why won't you just let me set up without you breathing down my neck, for once?"
"Brash child, you're lucky you're family. My children never gave me that kind of disrespect . . . " Liam faded out, probably offended.
"Crazy old man . . . why can't he just go into the great beyond already?" Faye muttered to herself as she unlocked the door and flipped over the Open/Closed sign. "Good morning, world."

Jaye made her way sleepily downstairs in her pjs and walked over to the arch separating her bookshop from The Pub. She unlatched the lattice door and propped it open, and then proceeded to wail: "I need coffee!!!"

Liam was walking on the streets, until he saw the open sign on the pub. He needed a job and was wondering if the owner would need someone. "Alright, you can do this, it's just like a video game.. stay cool.. stay cool." He just said, finally opening the door. Liam just looked around before entering. It was just a coffee place true, but he did love the decoration, he just looked at Faye, she was probably the owner. "Hey there....I.. I mean hello.." He approached, calmly looking around, he was stressed but he had to control it, he didn't want to spook the person by 'disappearing' in front of her. He then acknowledge that there was someone next to him, he just looked, going behind that girl like if it was a line forming up.

"Jaye, be patient, I have customers. Besides, the coffee's not ready yet." Faye called out to her sleepy friend. Then she turned to look at the guy. "Hi, I'm Fayette, I own The Pub. Ignore the zombie, she's not in line. The tea and hot chocolate is ready, if you want some. Hold on a second, though. I have to go pull the scones out of the oven."
She turned to go into the kitchen, then paused. "Hey, Jaye, can you go grab Morrigan? She's in my car. Here are the keys." She tossed her keys at the still half-asleep woman.

Jaye perked up and caught the keys, giving a slow evil smile to Faye.
"I know the coffee is ready Faye, I can smell it. And I don't appreciate the zombie comment. I think I'll hold your cat and car for ransom...." she trailed off and looked at the guy who had entered. "I'm Jaye, by the way, I own the bookshop through this arch, but it's not open yet." And with that she made a break for the door.

"Yes but.." He just said, as the owner went to the kitchen, Liam just sighed and looked around, he just looked at Jaye when she introduced herself. "Nice to meet you...I..I'm Liam." He just looked around, realizing that Jaye said the truth, a book store was indeed close. He just scratched his hair, this was unusual. He just waited for a while, still looking around, he could smell the hot chocolate from here, it was such a good smell, it relaxed him for a bit.

Faye glared at her friend. "No coffee for you. Leave the cat and the car be, and then ye'll get yer coffee." Her Irish accent started to get a little thick. "Besides, Morrigan's nickname isn't "Fuzzbutt of Doom" for nothin' . . . "
She turned to address the young man. "Take a seat, and I'll be back in a minute."

Jaye had almost made it out the door but the Irish accent and the threat of no coffee stopped her. She was caught somewhere between a pout, a glare and a laugh at Morrigan's nickname.
"Morrigan wouldn't attack me," Jaye confided. "Or she'd have to stay out in the car while you're at work." She huffed. "Fine, I'll go get Morrigan, but you better have my coffee ready..." She stuck her tongue out so Faye would know she wasn't really in a bad mood and went to get the cat from the car.

"Alright." He just said, that Irish accent she had earlier, kinda surprised him. He went to take a seat near the tables. As he listened to the conversation, seems like those two girls knew each other, then again that was normal if both their stores were really close. Liam just scratched his hair a little and kept looking around, the place seemed well deserted for a while, maybe this wasn't the day where the place gets full and lot of of business.
He kept looking around, calming himself down, he didn't want to disappear suddenly after all. He just waited, wondering of course if she even needed another worker here. It seemed like a calm place and maybe she could even manage serving a lot of customers, though so far, he was the only one here and that Jaye girl.

After a few minutes, Faye came back from the kitchen with a pan of warm scones. She put them on the counter and returned the pan to it's shelf. Then, she pulled out Jaye's mug and fixed her friend some coffee, with lots of cream and sugar.
"So," she called out to the teenager, "What's your order?"

He just looked around for a moment, from that question she asked. There was no customer why did she say that, he just looked at himself. "Oh... hum huh... hot chocolate will do... no wait.. I mean hum... I'm huh here... to.. apply for a job... yes... to apply....you do.. need help right.." He just said, trying to control the stress, his answer was just stupid, he shook his head, disappointed by what he said, he even managed to at least slap himself because of the answer he gave, but soon just focused a bit. "If....if not... then I'll just take a hot chocolate.. wi...with a muffin.."

Faye raised her eyebrows at him. He was acting really nervous and skittish. "Well, I just filled the position, but I can give you an application, and keep it on file. I can't guarantee you a job, so you should probably look around town, too. Hold on a minute, and I'll get you the application and your order."
She went into the office to search for an application.

"O..okay." He just said, waiting for the application, he just kept looking around a little, he had that weird sensation of being watched by someone, but there was no one else, unless the owners friend just arrived back, but he didn't see her yet, he just shrugged and kept relaxing himself, this wasn't good, if he was this stressed he would never get a job.

"Here you go," Faye said as she brought the application over to the kid. "You wanted hot chocolate and a muffin, right? By the way, what's your name?"

"T..thank you." He said as he took the application and looked at it carefully, almost like if it was some kind of science exam. He then looked at her and got up when she asked for his name. "My name is Liam Grayson." He said, he already seemed relaxed now, maybe it was because the application is a paper, he raised his hand in case she wanted to shake it, but it might have been just stupid. "S..sorry." Sitting immediately, feeling stupid, he didn't have to get up and raise his hand like that, she was maybe going to be his boss after all.
