Verloren was still searching some books, trying to find out about some unexplained stuff. He just recently heard about The First Page and decided to have a look. He opened the door and that annoying bell rang, he hated those stuff. He stopped and looked around, now this was odd. A coffee store, real close to the place. The section of books were close to the owner, he just looked around again, who ever made this place, really wanted to check an eye out on the customers. He closed his eyes for a moment and reopened them, nope he wasn't imagining stuff, it was all real. V just shrugged and advanced toward the book sections, searching for some books that could be useful, though he didn't know which section to look at, and he wasn't the kind of guy who likes asking for help, when he is lost or confused.

Jaye looked up from her recliner as the bell above the door rang. A guy with brown hair had walked in and stood looking around for a moment before making his way toward the floor-to-ceiling bookcases in the back. Jaye thought of letting it go but after observing the customer for a moment she realized he was in need of assistance. She heaved herself up out of the chair and made her way over.
"Hey, I'm Jaye, I own the shop." She said with a friendly smile. "Can I help you find something?"

He was still looking at the books, not concentring on those footsteps, when Jaye introduced herself he got surprised and close his eyes so nothing would burn, he looked away for a while, relaxing. His powers also happened when someone surprised him but he was able to control it, he reopened his eyes and looked at her. "Hello.. yeah I guess I do need some assistance." He just said, wondering why he didn't realize the owner would be here, she just surprised him, he had to be more careful then this. He kept looking at her and shook his head a little. "I'm searching for a book on human DNA... and huh human anormalities.. also any books from Karen Traviss." V said, avoiding eye contact for a while, he hoped she wouldn't ask questions on why he needed those books.

Jaye thought it odd that the guy didn't introduce himself in turn or make much eye-contact, but she got the feeling he was nervous around people so she let it go. "Anything by Traviss will be in the Science Fiction or Fantasy sections," she waved her hand in their general direction as they were clearly marked and started focusing on what books she had on human DNA. "Why don't you search there and I'll see what I can hunt up in the Non-Fiction section."
Jaye ran her hands over the spines as she entered the Non-Fiction aisle and made her way to the Biology/Science section. The section wasn't small but she was pretty sure she didn't have many books on human DNA. She grabbed three and walked over to the guy.
"Okay, so I found this one," she held up a book titled "Human Spermatozoa: Maturation, Capacitation and Abnormalities (Human Reproductive System - Anatomy, Roles and Disorders)" and explained that it was about the role sperm plays in reproducing damaged DNA. "This one doesn't sound very good and is about $245, and then I found these two that just list common DNA mutations and this one is a little bit more speculation, about how the myths about psychic and paranormal abilities may have come from, including some case studies and some research into the topic." Jaye held out the three books and waited.

Verloren nodded calmly, going to the sci-fi section, he searched for books from Karen Traviss and found some, books from her set in the star wars universe, two others books set in the gears of war universe, and her own books set in another sci-fi universe. He just looked around as he picked the gears of war novel and started reading it a bit. He got surprised yet again, after being absorbed in the book, Jaye appeared again and talked, it made him drop the book from surprise again, he closed his eyes once more and opened them, he looked at her and looked at the books, listening to what she said about the two last ones. "A book.. about sperms role.... for 245$, that's a ripoff.. I'm interested in the two others though... can I.. read them here?" He said, so he could avoid paying, though he would still pay if he had to, so he could read the book here, he didn't want his father finding out about these books.
"They were right about this place, great service." He said, smiling at her, he realized he didn't introduce himself but this was probably better, he didn't want people to recognize him, specially when he has all those robberies to do because of his father, now that kinda brought him in a bad mood, as he looked away from her, he had to calm himself down so he wouldn't burn the other books.

Jaye quirked an eyebrow and put a bit of frostiness in her tone as she responded. "You can read them here, as long as you pay for them first. This isn't a library you know." As a bookshop owner, one of the things that got on her nerves the most happened to be when people stood in the aisles and read the books without paying for them. She usually ended up giving into her temper and chasing them out with a broom if they refused to leave.
"I'll put the sperm book back--I agree it's a ripoff but that's the list price. I can ring up your other books at the counter." She began walking toward the counter. She'd put the other book back later, once the guy had paid for the books he wanted.

He didn't really like her tone, but then again his question was stupid. Of course he had to pay for it, he just followed her calmly after picking up the novel that he dropped. He took out some cash and just looked at her, waiting for the prize. He looked around. "Unusual, decoration you have, sometimes I get the feeling you are spying on your clients, like if, everyone had stuff to hide." He said just looking around, the place was still good looking though, he even wondered if the owner was living here, she probably was. It seemed like she had a comfortable life too.
"Do I need to pay for the hours I stay here, reading the books?" He said, unsure if that was a good question, he didn't want her to get more annoyed at him.

Faye walked into The First Page from her coffee shop carrying a plate. "Hey, Jaye, try this new scone. I just made it. I don't know if I should sell it or not."
She stopped at the edge of the counter, where Morrigan, her cat, was perched. Morrigan stayed in the bookstore while Faye worked. Jaye didn't mind, expecially when she brought her pets into the store all the time.

Jaye looked up from ringing up the books and smiled at Faye. "Be right there," she said, and turned back to her customer.
"That'll be $45," Jaye said to the guy at her counter. "You don't need to pay for the time, just the books." she clarified. After taking care of her customer Jaye turned to Faye.
"What kind?" She asked, somewhat suspiciously. "You're not going to make me try a weird flavor again are you?"

He nodded calmly as she said the price, he put an extra 100 bucks instead and went to sit with the books, looking at it for a while. He opened it and started reading, some paragraohs were interesting and others not so much, but he still didn't understand this power he has. He just sighed, this was annoying, buying a book but not finding what you wanted to. He just kept looking at the pages, trying to find it but nothing. ''Darn'' He just said, getting angrier at the book now. This was bad if he gave in to his anger, he would burn the book. He just sighed, closing his eyes to calm himself down.

Faye scowled a little. "Ok, so my attempt at making blueberry maple scones was a disaster, that doesn't mean everything will turn out badly!
She held up the plate with the scone and pouted a little. "Come on, just try it! It's good! Cherry and chocolate chip!"

"Ooh! That does sound good!" Jaye reached for a scone and took a generous bite. "This is delicious!" she said once she had swallowed. "If you don't sell these I will be disappointed."

"I told you it wasn't a disaster! Have a little more faith in me next time, geez." Faye said. "Here, you can bring the plate back later. I think I heard my bell ring, I have to go see if I have customers."
She turned around and walked back through the arch that connected the two shops.

"Yes!" Jaye pumped her fist in the air at having been left with the batch of experimental scones. She noticed the guy who had bought books before Faye came in was still there and wandered over to offer him a scone.
"Want a scone?" she asked, holding the tray out to him.

Maggie had been out of the hospital for a day. She had reported for her first day of work at The Pub yesterday afternoon, a mere five hours after having been released from the hospital. And now it was time to go help organize the part of the book store she had helped demolish.
She had stepped into the shop just in time to see Faye dissapear back through the arch. "Hey Jaye" she called cheerfully, shrugging out of her sweatshirt and tying it around her waist. "What can I do first?"
