"Maggie!" Jaye yelled to the girl. "Try a scone!" She ran over and held the almost empty tray out.

Maggie was practically assaulted by a tray of scones. Grinning thankfully, she selected one and took a bite. "Wow, this is really good" she exclaimed. "Faye made these didn't she?" She finished up the scone quickly, and tightened the sweatshirt knotted around her waist.

"Yep, and we're the lucky guinea pigs. This time it paid off. Cherry and chocolate chip." Jaye selected another scone from the tray and then set it on the counter. "Okay, I thought we'd start by reorganizing the display tables..." Jaye started explaining to Maggie exactly what she wanted and the two set to work.

Maggie listened intently as Jaye explained how she wanted things to go and nodded in an understanding fashion before setting to work along side Jaye. They worked in silence for a few minutes before Maggie, who didn't like the erie calmness, spoke up. "So I see you have more customers today" she joked lightly.

"Haha, yeah, slightly," Jaye responded. She finished up alphabetizing her section of books on the display table and turned to Maggie. "So how are the ribs?"

Maggie looked up from the two books she was returning to their respectful places in the alphabet and laughed. "Oh they're fine. It takes more than that to get me down. I heal pretty quickly" she explained, sliding the first of the two books back onto the shelf.

Verloren just kept relaxing, until he heard those voices in his head again that girly voice. This made him uncomfortable, until he heard his cellphone ring. He took it out, opened his eyes and realized it was his father calling, though soon enough the cellphone just started to burn. He almost dropped it to the floor but caught it and looked around. This was bad, real bad, he wasn't able to control himself. One of the books he bought also started to burn, he closed his eyes, trying to calm down, though he couldn't now. He just kept his eyes closed, taking the book in his hand and running around without looking where he was going, he bumped on walls on several occasion. "Is there a bloody bathroom around here." He just said, hopefully loud enough, he just kept bumping into walls, disoriented because he had to keep his eyes closed, so he wouldn't cause other kind of damage.

"Do you smell something burning?" Jaye asked a moment before she heard someone yell behind her "Is there a bloody bathroom around here?" Jaye turned to see the guy she had helped earlier with a burning book in his hands running around the room bouncing off of various things.
"Stop running! Just drop the book!" She yelled to the guy.
"Maggie, go get a pail of water from Faye." Jaye made her way over to the guy. The floor of her shop was hardwood without carpeting, so she knew it would not start to burn before Maggie got back with the water.
"Drop the book!" She said again to make sure he heard her. As she got closer the flames died down slightly, but she couldn't risk putting them out completely with a customer watching. She wondered how the fire started in the first place.
"Were you playing with a lighter in my bookshop?" She asked.

Maggie dropped the second book...on her foot...and limped over to The Pub as quickly as possible. She filled Faye in as she ran for the kitchen and got a bucket of water. She didn't know if her garbled words made any sense, but she didn't hang around to see. She booked it back to The First Page (pun intented ) and turned the bucket over to Jaye, spilling some of its water in her hurry. There was no way she wanted Jaye's poor bookshop to suffer any more after what they had put it through with Amy just days earlier.

He did what Jaye said, dropping the book in the ground, and is cellphone who was completely fried, he kept his eyes shut. His hand had no marks at all, like if he never touched the thing. His body heat was increasing like if it was somekind of chain reaction. He could usually control his powers, but at time, that disturbing voice in his head, his father, he just losed the control easily. Working to calm himself down, he didn't want to burn more stuff by accident. V took some deep breaths, calming himself little by little, his eyes were still shut, his body temperature got back to normal and he soon opened his eyes. What was the question Jaye asked, he just couldn't remember, he just looked at the floor for the moment. "Sorry about that.. I hum.. don't know what happened." He lied, he couldn't say that he just looked at the object and it burst into flames, they would think he is mad or something.

Jaye dumped the contents of the bucket on the flaming book...and was that a cell phone? as soon as Maggie handed her the bucket. She knew she hadn't covered everything completely, but under the guise of the water she was able to put the rest of the flames out using her power. After watching to make sure the last of the fire was out she looked up at the customer in anger. Before she started yelling she knew she'd have to check him over for wounds and probably file an incident report. But when she looked at his hands she realized they were completely clean of any burns...
"How long were you holding that?" Jaye asked, knowing that even a very few short seconds would have left a mark.

"At...least 40 seconds.." He said, he looked at his hand that wasn't marked and gulped, this was bad, real bad, she might discover something, he just looked at her. "I hum.. huh... have hard skin... like real hard... hum...do you have a black marker?" V just said, she didn't look at his other hand, so maybe he could mark that hand, making it pass like it burned, then again it was a stupid question to ask. He just looked away for a while. Looking at Maggie he wondered who she was, but this was still bad, two person, how could he keep his power a secret now.

"Maggie," Jaye said slowly, ignoring the guy's request for a black marker and seeing through his lie about having hard skin. No one had skin that hard, even rocks showed scorch marks. "You know that thing that I found out, that kind of caused us to be friends in the first place?" She didn't wait for a reply and she kept her eyes on the guy. "I've been meaning to tell you something. There's this secret that I have..." Jaye held up her right hand and snapped her fingers and a small flame sparked to life on her thumb. She held it out for Maggie and the customer to see.
She was pretty sure she had found another pyro.

Maggie looked from the still slightly smoking pile on the ground to Jaye when she addressed her in this slow, interesting tone. Maggie was greatful that Jaye hadn't said exactly what she had found out, which meant that this stranger who she didn't know wouldn't know about her unusual ability.
Seeing Jaye snap and cause a flicker of fire caused Maggie to take a step backwards in surprise and trip over the book she had dropped earlier, landing hard on her back. With a tiny groan, she made her way back to her feet and just sort of stared mutely at Jaye, not sure what she could possibly say to a discovery like that.

V was toast, he was sure of it, he looked at her and gulped, she said something odd to the other, a power, a speciality? What was she talking about, he soon looked at her right hand when she snapped her fingers. He just looked at her, his eyes wide open, he put his finger on the small flame, nothing happened to his finger, not a burnt mark, not even a smell. He did the same thing then her, with his left hand, snapping his fingers, a flame appeared, however, for all the control Verloren had, sometimes it could be special, his flame was blue. He looked at her and sighed. "That was why I bought those books." He said, looking at the flame and calmly looking away, this was hard to take, he always thought he was the only one capable of 'playing' with fire. Seeing another one, made him happy and at the same time, unsure.
